Winter Break Fun in Kingwood, Humble & Atascocita: Best Activities for Kids

Making Winter Break Fun & Easy for HKA Families!

Hello, fellow Kingwood moms!
With Humble ISD and many other schools out for winter break this week, it’s the perfect time to explore our wonderful community and keep the kiddos entertained. I’ve rounded up some fantastic local activities, as well as a few free at-home ideas, to make this break memorable for the whole family.

Local Adventures:

  • Get Creative at The Mudpie Company: Unleash your child’s inner artist at this charming pottery painting studio. It’s a fun way to spend an afternoon, and you’ll have a personalized keepsake to remember the day.

  • Burn Off Energy at Rowland Ballard Gymnastics: Rowland Ballard is hosting a Winter Break Camp this week. It’s a great opportunity for kids to stay active, learn new skills, and make new friends.
  • Swing for the Fences at D-BAT Humble: For the budding baseball or softball player, D-BAT offers batting cages and training facilities to practice their swing.
  • Experience Farm Life at Old MacDonald’s Farm: This petting zoo and farm offers a hands-on experience with various animals, pony rides, and a playground. It’s both educational and entertaining for young children.
  • Visit One Acre Farm: A local gem where kids can learn about gardening, meet farm animals, and enjoy the great outdoors.
  • Explore Humble ISD Playgrounds: Many school playgrounds are open to the public during breaks. It’s a great way to let the kids run around and meet up with school friends.
  • Bounce Around at Trampoline Parks: Venues like Cosmic Air Adventure Park in Humble offer various attractions, including trampolines, obstacle courses, and more. It’s a perfect spot for kids to expend some energy.
  • Roller Skate at Humble Family Skate Center: Enjoy a classic family outing at the local roller rink. They often have special events and themed nights, so check their schedule for any winter break activities.

At-Home Fun:
If you’re looking to stay closer to home, here are some free and engaging activities:

  • Indoor Obstacle Course: Use cushions, chairs, and other household items to create a fun and challenging course. It’s a great way to keep kids active indoors.

  • Scavenger Hunt: Create a list of items for your kids to find around the house or yard. This can keep them entertained and encourage problem-solving.
  • Arts and Crafts: Pull out the art supplies and let the kids’ creativity run wild. Consider making homemade playdough or creating a scrapbook together.
  • Baking Together: Involve the kids in baking cookies or cupcakes. It’s a fun way to teach them basic cooking skills and enjoy a tasty treat afterward.
  • Family Game Night: Dust off those board games or play charades. It’s an excellent way to bond and have some laughs together.

Remember, the best memories are made when we’re together, whether we’re out exploring our community or enjoying simple pleasures at home.

Wishing you all a fun-filled and safe winter break!
