Moms, this year has taught me a lot about what is important in my life. But I also learned I am not in many pictures. As Moms, we are always behind the camera making sure we get all the things with our kids and families but often times forget ourselves. This year I made it a priority of getting good family pictures redone, you know the ones that you feel good about yourself and want to show off to everyone who walks in your door. When Tiffany Harston Photography reached out, I knew it was a picture-perfect fit to update our family photos. Tiffany is a local Mom who has a passion for families and capturing memories to have for a lifetime. She understands how stressful planning a portrait session can be for Moms, she is there to walk you through every step and detail. From choosing outfits for the family, to deciding what gallery layout to use, to the perfect session location, she will make the whole experience unforgettable. She even set up a makeup session for me prior to our portrait session, which was one less thing I had to scramble and worry about doing the day of our session.
The Pre-Consultation meeting was seamless. Tiffany and I met at my house to discuss which wall I envisioned turning into the gallery wall. She uses a program to show you different canvas layouts on the wall you choose which made it easy for me to see all my options before moving to the next step. She takes every detail into account, the lighting in the room, the size of the wall, the decor or theme throughout the rest of the house. We ended up choosing frameless canvas’ but you could do framed portraits or canvas’ as well.
Next came our Portrait Session: which I was not nervous about, but you never know what will happen when young kids are involved. I have worked with Tiffany before, and as a mom to a young special needs child herself, I had no doubt she would be patient with the kids and make this fun for them. The kids had a great time taking pictures, it was easier than I could have imagined. Have you ever been able to say that about your family portrait sessions before? Tiffany created silly words for them to say instead of “cheese” and the kids thought it was hilarious, but it worked because we got real genuine smiles, not the fake ones. She captured the sweetest candid moments between all of us.
Reveal & Order Session: The Reveal! OMG I couldn’t wait for this appointment. Tiffany’s turn around time is rather quick, so I didn’t have to wait long. Given the pandemic, our meeting was via Zoom, but Tiffany made sure to explain everything to Blake and I both. Using a program, she was able to show us a rendition of our pictures on our wall in the layout we had previously chosen, to double-check that is exactly what we loved and wanted before ordering! She even went a step further and picked the best portraits for the gallery wall layout, which I loved because I would have been overwhelmed. Tiffany’s eye for detail is rare. Blake and I were absolutely blown away by the images Tiffany was able to capture. I thought we would get maybe 5 or 6 good portraits, but we loved them all, we ended up purchasing all of them! Isn’t that crazy?! ALL of the pictures we loved. If your family is like ours, that is hard to accomplish with our family because we have the kids that are not usually looking, or smiling, or let’s be honest, probably picking their noses, and Blake who has the toughest time keeping his eyes open. Despite all these challenges, Tiffany captured beautiful, memorable portraits that we now have for a lifetime.
Delivery & Install
This was the best part! I was like a kid on Christmas during the install.
Tiffany came with all the tools, latter, level, even the canvas layout on paper to make it an easy and fast install.
We all went upstairs and played a game while we anxiously waited for her to call us downstairs for the reveal. The colors of the canvas, the lighting in the pictures, the wrap-around picture details on the canvas absolutely blew Blake and I away by the flawless gallery wall she provided for our family. We are so thankful to get to work with such a patient and talented photographer, located right here in our area! I walk past the gallery wall and I am in awe every time because I am shocked our family was able to have a fun, stress-free portrait experience, and now we have these sweet pictures to remember this year (Bye 2020!) and the ages of our kids.
