What is your name and company?
I grew up in Crosby, going to school 1st-12th grade there.
I moved to Kingwood in 2012 to be near the store, and I have loved it ever since!
Child(ren) and Age(s)?
Denver Christian 10 months (as of 11/18)
I have only been a mom for less than a year, but one day I had the epiphany “I don’t have to do it all!” I do not have to cook, clean, give baths, clean up, etc, every.single.day. That was a big moment when I realized I could pick what is most important each day and go from there!

I have owned Pretty Little Things Boutique in Kingwood for a little over 8 years, we just opened a second location in Generation Park in December of 2019. I love my job and all the creativity and hard work it requires. We have been through so many seasons of life, but it always remains such a positive place and outlet for myself. I feel honored to have my “dream job”. It has been 100 times more work than I could have ever imagined, but it has given me so much joy. I do all of the marketing, photography, buying, and the back end of things.
Kingwood and the Lake Houston area are like none other. I always knew I was blessed to be here, but after flooding with Hurricane Harvey, it was so obvious. This community welcomed me with open arms and was right there to help us rebuild after the flood, and even now through the pandemic. Not only is this community so hands on, but it is filled with so much talent, it is inspiring!
working, etc)?
The best advice for “balancing it all” is that you cannot! Some days you get a lot of work done and you hardly see your kid, the next day you may be the most fun parent and play at the park all day, etc. Balance does not have to all happen in the same day, but more so over time. Staying balanced is not a day to day struggle, it just means you are present in whatever you are doing that day! (I have to remember this daily!!)
What would you tell the old “You” before you had kids?
I would tell the old me before kids…”YOU ARE NOT TIRED!” haha! but seriously I think I would tell myself “you are ready for this! It will come more naturally than you think!” I was always a little nervous to become a mom, I have surprised myself and am proud.
What would you tell the old “You” before you had kids?
2020 has just been a whirlwind for us ALL. Owning businesses and becoming a parent this year have just been A LOT. My proudest mom moment is just “making it”, taking it a day at a time and enjoying the little moments instead of being overwhelmed with it all.
My favorite part of my job is seeing my employees grow. I am usually the ladies first boss and it is so hard, but so rewarding. They are in such pivotal years of their lives and it is amazing to watch them “become”. Seeing our shoppers dress for life’s sweet events is also the BEST! We have gotten to be a small part of weddings, graduations, milestone birthdays, family pictures, etc, It is just so special!! I love the saying “I remember what I wore when it happened”.
What is your favorite thing to do in the HKA area?
I love our area!
