Ways to Help Fight Childhood Cancer | Kingwood Moms

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Every THREE minutes a family hears the words, “Your child has cancer”.
These unwelcomed words, no one should ever have to hear. There are a variety of ways in our area alone that you can help find a cure to end Pediatric Cancer.

Addi’s Faith Foundation
Addi Faith helps fund research for childhood cancer and helps provide financial assistance to families struggling to care for a child with cancer.
Less than 4% of funding is directed to childhood cancer research.

Live Love Landon
L3 was started after a young boy named Landon lost his battle with rare soft tissue cancer. His parents made it their mission to help other kids and their families fight this battle together.

Mothers Against Cancer
Mother’s Against Cancer was started in 1989 in loving memory of a little girl who passed away at the age of 2 due to Leukemia. Mother’s Against Cancer was established to help raise funds for all forms of childhood cancer.
“We have donated over $6.5 million to Texas Children’s Hospital for children’s cancer research. Monies donated were used for further research in the cardiac toxicity study; hematology research to detect sub-microscopic malignant cells; the study and the side effects of chemotherapy detecting cardiac damage; to further drug development and investigation; treatments for central nervous system cancers, especially brain and molecular profiling oncology-studying genes responsible for cancers; preclinical study; and clinical development of new agents to treat pediatric malignancies”.-Mother’s Against Cancer-
You can look more on their website on how their funds are being used to help other families going through this battle right now.

Back Pew is helping to support the mission to end childhood cancer by creating a special Addi’s Faith Kolsch. There is a Texan’s watch party this Sunday.

Stacey’s Sweets has created special Cookie Bombs to sell at tonight’s Gold Football Game Atascocita VS Kingwood at 7 PM at Turner Stadium. A portion of the sales will go back to these awesome charities that I listed above.

I can not believe all of these amazing ways that we can help our children fight Pediatric Cancer. I love that as a community we can come together and help fight this fight as one. These foundations are around year-round so anytime you feel the need to help volunteer or donate, check their websites to see all the ways that you can help and we can continue these awesome resources for the area.
