Mother’s Day Out Program Guide | Kingwood Moms

MOTHER’S DAY OUT PROGRAM RUNDOWN:

Figuring out which Mother’s Day Out programs to choose can be a daunting task. But I have done all the work for you and have the information all in one place! I hope you guys can really use all the information. Mother’s Day Out Programs typically means Faith Based at a local Church. Most of the MDO programs follow the Humble ISD School calendar.
Registration Fees are non-refundable.

My personal experience, when it was time to sign my son up for Mother’s Day Out, there were two that were on top of my list. My husband woke up at 3:30 AM!! on the day of registration and went and sat in line for a spot to register. He was still number 12 in line. The lady in the #1 position was 8.5 months pregnant. I tell you this not to scare you but to let you know people take this seriously. Like VERY seriously.
We ended up getting a spot for my son so I didn’t have to worry about our back up plan.

I have found the younger the child is, the harder it is to get them into a spot. So definitely line up early if it is a school you absolutely want. Some friends register are multiple schools so that is always and option if you are concerned.
Make sure ALL your paperwork is signed and completed when you get there, or they will not take it.
Most must meet an age requirement before September 1st of the school year, as always double check the date and age with your program.
Most programs need the preschoolers potty trained, but that also depends on each program so double check that.

All of our programs offer a Bible curriculum with Chapel service every Wednesday.  We offer specials to include PE and Music.  JC Sports is also a part of our program at an additional cost directly to them.   Our tuition includes 2 snacks and a meal per day.  Our MDO program is a play based curriculum while our Pre-School and Full Care are an Academic curriculum.  Registration is open year-round dependent on availability.  We have a fun summer program that includes a camp for school-aged children up to 5th grade in addition to our registered children.  We offer themed weeks with in house field trips.  We also offer camps on Thanksgiving and Christmas for school-aged children up to 5th grade.  VBS is available in the summer as well.  We have teachers who have been here over 20 years and offer a loving, Christian environment.

CDC has been serving families in the Humble and the surrounding area for over 25 years. Our goal is to keep learning exciting and fun while sharing God’s love and truths with your preschoolers. We invite parents to come tour our facility and program. Tours can be scheduled through the CDC office at 281-446-4904 or emailing Lisa Payne-Director at [email protected]

A Typical Preschool Day:
Your child’s day at CDC includes activities to grow the whole child–academically, socially, physically and spiritually. Classroom learning of ABC’s and 123’s is made exciting while educational through cooking, science experiments, arts and crafts, and lots of hands-on activities. We offer age-appropriate exercise and movement in our Move-N-Groove class along with singing and instrument introduction in our Music class.  Spanish is provided for our Three’s, Pre-K and KIT classes. Each area of learning and movement done at CDC is accentuated with Bible stories and examples of Bible truths along with scripture memorization. Monthly chapel and themed days ensure each preschool day offers a new adventure in your child’s learning.

St. Martha Catholic School (SMCS) offers before and after school care.  Classes begin at 8:00 a.m.  Students may be dropped off as early as 7:30 a.m.  If earlier drop off is needed, the Before and After School Program (BASP) is utilized beginning at 7:00 a.m.  After school care is available from 3:15 p.m. (normal dismissal time) until 6:00 p.m.  Parents may sign up for specific days of the week or just “drop in” when needed.

2018-2019 tuition prices ranged from $498 per month to $750 per month.  Tuition is payable over 10 months and contracts are not required.  The 2019-2020 tuition amounts have not been finalized.

Waitlisted-“Many of our classes fill up quickly.  However, we actively monitor and work the wait list to try and meet the needs of all who want to attend school at SMCS.   Sometimes the timing does not work out for prospective families, but we have offered class spots to almost every family who wanted one.  This can happen any time during the registration period up until the 1st day of school!  I encourage parents to bug me as much as they want to if their child is waitlisted.  I am a parent of SMCS students and I was waitlisted when we first applied a few years ago – it is frustrating but I am proof that it does eventually work out!”
Another topic that I wanted to bring up is “potty training”.  Our toddlers need to be toilet trained by the time school begins in August.  We know this is stressful for parents during the PK screening process, and we understand that ages and experiences vary – many students don’t master this until summertime.
Speaking of PK Screening, we conduct a social screening for our PK and Kindergarten applicants utilizing the Brigance Early Childhood Screening tools.  This is available to search on the internet.  The screening (which takes about 30 minutes per child), allows teachers to establish a baseline for new students in the following areas:  Language Development, Cognitive Development, Physical Development, Self-Help Skills and Social and Emotional Development.  We have refined this process over the years to hopefully provide a fun experience for our new students.
