Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in Kingwood?
I am from Baytown, Texas. I have been in this area for 11 years now.

Jack & Monroe is named after my children.
I hate to shop for myself. I hate it.
What is your go-to activity for yourself for pampering or for fun?
Uninterrupted reading…or run, I am a runner.
Funniest shortcut/routine for helping you through parenthood?
I am a list maker, and paper calendar type of girl. I am a type A personality. I have reminders on my phone, and Addie reminds me of things too.
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
I started Jack & Monroe 4 years ago. I started it because I hate to shop and I had two kids under two years of age. I wanted to find myself again after children.
So I started it to help other moms who are trying to shop. You can shop online, make an appointment to shop and your children can come hang out in the little playroom, in the next room.
I try to make shopping for moms as convenient as possible because there are so many other stressful things in our lives, I want shopping to be fun!
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
This community has been amazing, and so welcoming. The word of mouth has just really helped me over the years.
What is the best advice for juggling mommy hood and running a business (or volunteering, working, etc)?
Kids always come first. My kids always come first. I have to not let myself stress out…I want to always be present with my kids. It has taken me a couple of years to get to this point.
What would you tell the old “You” before you had kids?
There are going to be ok, you don’t have to be the perfect mom, just the best mom. What is important is that they have a safe happy place, it doesn’t matter when they reach their milestones, or how ever many activities you do, they just want you as their mom.
What is your proudest mommy moment?
My son has learning disabilities, and the way he handled it was amazing. He handled it like a champ. And my daughter, was the best sister to him. My kids showed us that everything would be ok, in the midst of everything, they were stronger than my husband and I were at the time. It was amazing to see that.
What is your favorite thing to do in the HKA area?
This is a good question. We love the area.
