I am excited to introduce Kristi, with Back to Health Body Works to you today! She is a local momma. She is a massage therapist at Back to Health Bodywork
and just started a body care collection, called Three Reasons.
Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in Kingwood?
Winnipeg, Canada which is where I did my schooling, but I have been down here in Texas since 1998.
Child(ren) and Age(s)?
I have three. My oldest 2 are boys-16 & 14. And my daughter is the youngest-8.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I am starting a body care line. Called Three Reasons.
What is your go-to activity for yourself for pampering or for fun?
For me to relax…I love anything around the water. The Lake, The Beach, Reading.
Funniest shortcut/routine for helping you through parenthood?
You can’t do it all. I realized I couldn’t do everything with work and kids and keeping up with the house. Once I realized that I relaxed a little bit. But don’t be afraid of asking for help. Ultimately, your kids just want you with them. They love you for you!
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
I first started out in Hotel Restaurant Management then I realized one day that is not what I wanted to do.
I also knew that I wanted my own business, and I wanted to help people.
I love what I do. I started my business in 2010.
I am a massage therapist at Back to Health Bodywork.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
The community has been amazing. Just with the word of mouth and recommendations have kept my business running.
What is the best advice for juggling mommyhood and running a business (or volunteering, working, etc)?
I am still trying to figure out the balance. My kids still need me, which I love.
Step away and pull away for a bit to recharge for you, your family and your business.
What would you tell the old “You” before you had kids?
I think I would say Work Harder! I should have worked harder when I was younger, I should have saved more money when I was younger.
What is your proudest mommy moment?
My kids. They are SO great! When my oldest was 8, my parents were taking him to church. He asked me why we weren’t going to church. I am so proud of them and their ethics, I am trying to raise them to love God as I was raised but it is hard to be a kid in today’s society.
What is your favorite thing to do in the HKA area?
We love to go eat. We don’t have a favorite restaurant we just love to eat.
We like to be in our community and hang out at home.
